The compact design is particularly useful for shallow piccolos and snares that are less than 5\" deep. A knurled drum key tension adjustment is smooth and accurate, while a magnet installed in the lift-handle keeps snare wires engaged at all times. It can be retrofit on other snares, but the hole spacing must be closer together than the standard MAG spacing. With non-standard hole spacing, retrofits may require additional hole drilling.
