Very cool guitar — and a rather rare find! This USA-made 1981 Fender “Bullet S-3” is a solid-body electric with three single-coil pickups, in excellent to near-mint condition. Remarkably clean for its age, with almost all original parts intact — down to the knobs and switch tip — except for a replacement 5-way blade switch (replacing the factory 3-way).
To describe this model accurately: imagine combining the best elements of a Telecaster with a stop-tail Stratocaster, and you’ll get something close to this beauty.
A total joy to play, featuring a “Slim C”-shaped 21-fret maple neck with a rare blonde skunk stripe, Tele-style headstock, vintage “F”-style tuners, and a bone nut. Super-low action and excellent playability with a 25.5" scale and 7.25" radius.
Hardware includes a Fender hardtail, string-through-body bridge with six individual saddles. Electronics: three Strat-style covered single-coil pickups, master volume, master tone, and the updated 5-way selector switch, all mounted on a 1-ply white pickguard.
The 2-tone sunburst alder body shows only a few tiny chips and minimal finish checking — otherwise, it’s impressively clean and nearly wear-free. Fully set up and freshly restrung with D’Addario EXL-110 (10–46) strings.
Includes the original period-correct Fender molded hardshell case.
