Overview of Fernandes - LA55-KK "Ken Kitamura" Signature HSS -Reverse HS "Arctic White" (No Case or Bag) - MIJ - 1990's
A very cool and quite rare Made in Japan Fernandes LA55-KK "Ken Kitamura Signature" in a lightly played-in Pearl White finish. Manufactured from 1996 to 2002, this particular model has no visible serial number, as was common with many of these guitars. Because of this, it's difficult to determine the exact year of production. Fully cleaned, restrung, and set up to E standard pitch.
The Fernandes LA-85KK was a domestic market release for acclaimed Japanese guitarist Ken Kitamura of the band L'Arc-en-Ciel. This standout, uniquely designed guitar features a reverse headstock and a Geco inlay on the 12th fret marker. It has 24 frets, along with a lightly tarnished (licensed) gold Floyd Rose-style "Fernandes" badged tremolo system (comes with a black tremolo bar). The original Fernandes HSS pickup setup includes a coil tap switch for the humbucker and a 5-way blade switch.
The hardware exhibits some light patina/oxidation due to age. The headstock and the back of the maple neck are in excellent condition with no visible marks or dings. All the frets remain 100% fresh with plenty of life left, and the rosewood fretboard is in excellent shape. Overall, the guitar body is very clean, showing only surface scuffing and light impressions. However, there is one fairly large "wham-o" located on the bottom of the body just above the strap pin, along with another less noticeable ding on the lower edge of the horn and two super small dents near the output jack.
Fully inspected and set up by our team at Music City, this guitar is ready for a new home. Ships without a case or gig bag.
