Overview of VINTAGE - 1954 Gibson L-50 "Player's grade" w/ Archtop Bridge Pickup & HD Case - USED
Very well-played-in and slightly modified 1954 Gibson L-50 archtop acoustic, featuring an aftermarket "Shadow Pickups" Archtop Replacement Rosewood Bridge (as described to me by the guitar’s previous owner). It has replacement keystone vintage-style 3x3 tuners and an aftermarket strap pin installed on the neck heel.
The pickguard and original case are missing, and there is one long past crack repair located at the bottom of the lower F-hole. Otherwise, the entire guitar is original and free of repairs.
As stated, this guitar has been played extensively and shows every sign of being well used throughout its 70-year lifespan. It’s an awesome player that also appears to have undergone a refret at some point—its tall, narrow frets are very fresh and show significantly less playwear compared to the rest of the instrument.
It features a classic '50s rounded oval neck profile, a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and a 10” radius. This is a killer player’s-grade vintage Gibson archtop with loads of mojo, sold with a brand-new Profile hardshell archtop case.
- Serial Number: X9005 (Located on the interior back, just inside the lower F-hole.)
