DR Strings' Sunbeam strings are plain steel and handwound phosphor bronze on a round core and have an excellent tone and sustain.
The tone does not seem to decay as do other phosphor bronze strings, giving the strings a decaying curve. The Sunbeam phosphor seems to sustain in a straight line, until the sound "falls off" and are also musically bright and rich sounding. Being round core based, they are also very flexible.
