About Drum Workshop
Drum Workshop was founded in 1972 as a teaching studio in Santa Monica, California, founded by Don Lombardi. Shortly thereafter, Don and his student-turned-sales-manager John Good started selling equipment, beginning with a height-adjustable trap-case seat. DW's first big order came from the Camco Drum Company. In 1977, Camco sold Lombardi its machinery, dies, and molds, and Drum Workshop shifted from teaching to drum manufacturing.
