Early 1960's Baldwin BL-1 Leslie,..All tube organ rotary speaker that has been modded to be used as a guitar leslie speaker. 1/4 inch inputs with complete wiring harness and custom made on-off speed foot controller to controll the desired speed. Loaded with a Jensen Sica solid 12 inch driver. Awesome Leslie-like rotating speaker & amp that can be used with a guitar, synth, organ, vocals, etc.! When used in unison with any smaller guitar amp, this bad boy has the ability to make something like a Fender Princeton sound absolutely huge and can easily and accurately reproduce all those much sought after George Harrison "Let In be" solo-like leslie tones. So, if you're on the hunt for that distinct Leslie sound, here's your one chance to tap into your inner Beatle.
The BL-1 was made by Baldwin in the 1960s to accompany their home organs, but this one has been modified to accept instrument signals via a 1/4" input! This means you can play any electric instrument through it such as guitar, synth, keyboards, organ, etc. If you wish you could also sing through it with a Hi-Z mic for an awesome and trippy 60s swirling vocal effect!
The custom connected footswitch connects to the amp & changes the speed of the rotating speaker to fast or slow simply by putting your foot on the switch to control the desired speed at any given time. Which means you can play through the unit as a Leslie with your guitar and have control over your desired speed selection.
The BL-1 also breaks up quite fast for a dirty sound as it is full of tubes and is very warm and fuzzy. However the tones can be cleaned up if you ever so slightly dial back the rear mounted volume to control the level of dirt you wish to hear at any given time. There is also a custom made wiring harness included with the unit so that it can be used in tandum with another amplifier up to the size of a Fender Deluxe reverb or so, and the unit also has a new 3-Prong grounded power cord upgrade installed to insure safe usage. All in all, super fun & unique sounding toy for the studio and/or guitar rig.
