38 years old and still going strong!! Rather rare, Version 1, 1988 Fender MIJ "SM Series Strat" with a factory loaded factory loaded black Kahler "Spyder" double locking tremolo system. All it's original Fender parts and in excellent overall condition with very minimal signs of use or play-wear.

This first version MIJ HM Strat appeared in 1988 with a distinct Strat Logo in the headstock. maple neck with a shallow "C shaped" 60's profile, Satin finish with a rosewood skunk stripe, and 24 thicker & wider Med-Jumbo frets. Special design feature where-as one of the 4 neck bolts is offset the bottom - treble side of the neck to allow for a far more comfortable "Neck Heal" area for better access to playing in those upper registers. This beauty also boasts a fine adjustment neck tilt feature located on the bottom edge of the neck plate. High gloss black Basswood body with a total scale length of an even 25 inches. HSS pickup configuration with factory original Fender "Hot Rod"single coils in the neck and middle positions, and a high output Fender Hot Humbucker in the bridge position. Wired 1x master volume with 2x TBX,..(Treble - Bass expander pots), Black "F" stamped top hat knobs,.. 5 way blade switch and 2 way mini toggle for coil tapping the bridge pickup. Rosewood fretboard with a very flat 17" radius, and stylized 80's "Strat" silk headstock logo. Combine all that goodness with the aforementioned licenced Kahler "Spyder" Double Locking tremolo system, and you have the ultimate 80's era shreading machine!! Gotoh sealed gear tuners and side of body mounted output jack. Fully restring and set up t E standard pitch and includes an aftermarket rectangular hard shell case.
