Pearl's Superior Shell Technology (SST) on this Export 7" x 8" rack tom uses a combination of strategically arranged plies of poplar and Asian mahogany and proprietary construction techniques to offer you an incredibly durable shell that maximizes frequency response. The Export EXX's Opti-Loc mounting system keeps this tom wobble free and reinforces the resonance of the kit. All of this makes this Export EXX rack tom a high-quality addition for your Pearl Export kit.

First of all, select woods are chosen, based on their unique acoustic properties, then milled to optimal thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams, providing you with a perfect, air-tight fit. After that, the wood plies are saturated with Pearl's special AcoustiGlue, which permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood, giving you phenomenal resonance. Lastly, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, creating drum shells with remarkable tone, vibrancy, and strength.
