Pearl's Superior Shell Technology (SST) on this Export 14" x 14" floor tom uses a combination of strategically arranged plies of poplar and Asian mahogany and proprietary construction techniques to offer you an incredibly durable shell that maximizes frequency response. Low-mass steel lugs increase resonance. All of this makes this Export EXX floor tom a high-quality addition to your Pearl Export kit.

Music City Drummers swear by Pearl's Superior Shell Technology (we even have a Pearl Endorser in our ranks), a proprietary technique for achieving the ultimate air chamber. First of all, select woods are chosen based on their unique acoustic properties, then milled to optimal thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams, providing you with a perfect, air-tight fit. After that, the wood plies are saturated with Pearl's special AcoustiGlue, which permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood, giving you phenomenal resonance. Lastly, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, creating drum shells with remarkable tone, vibrancy, and strength.
