The Diplomat Coated Smooth White features warm tones, resonance and sustain. Constructed with 1-ply of 7.5-mil Smooth White film with a white textured coating, Diplomat Coated Smooth White drumheads provide increased midrange tone and volume. These drumheads are most popular as tom resonant drumheads but also work well as batter heads for lighter playing. It's important to note that these are very unique heads that utilize the smooth white film, as opposed to the clear film that you may be familiar with. A coated Remo head is typically a clear head, with a coating sprayed on it. This is a smooth white head with coating sprayed on it. At Drum Center of Portsmouth, we find the lows and mids are more enhanced with these heads.
