Royer Labs SF-24 Dual Element Stereo Phantom Powered Ribbon Microphone

The SF-24 Stereo Ribbon Microphone from Royer Labs incorporates their classic ribbon sound in a stereo microphone. The microphone requires phantom power which results in an impressive -38 dB output level. Two 1.8-micron aluminum ribbon transducers are mounted on top of each other in a 45-degree Blumlein stereo configuration. The result are stereo recordings with vivid, life-like detail and transparent audio fidelity. The SF-24 features a 5-pin XLR connector and an 18' (5.48m) cable with dual standard XLR connectors is supplied. The high SPL capability and figure 8 polar pattern associated with ribbon microphones apply here as well. Engineers have been known to switch their dual microphone techniques for the convenience, reliability and audio quality of the SF-24 when capturing orchestras, ambiance, group vocals, performances, etc.
