Designed in collaboration with veteran jazz artist Jeff Hamilton, renowned for his highly musical cymbal sound, the 20" Crescent Hammertone Ride is a versatile cymbal that functions beautifully as both a ride and crash—a key consideration, as Jeff does not use a separate crash cymbal in his standard setup.
Its high profile and exaggerated bow curvature are the result of extensive hand hammering, delivering the exact sound and feel Hamilton envisioned. A special lathing technique creates tapered edges that provide a controlled stick attack and a warm, musical spread when crashed.
Crafting a cymbal line for an uncompromising artist like Jeff Hamilton required meticulous attention at every stage of production. Jeff personally visited the SABIAN factory multiple times to work closely with Vault craftsmen. The result is a flawless cymbal line that delivers uncompromising tone and musicality.
