The handpan is a perfect combination of percussion and melody instrument. It is made from two assembled steel bowls. The metal shells are hardened (nitrated) in a special process. This gives the instrument its structure. In the course of their manufacturing process, the halves are then painstakingly hammered by hand. This creates dents and a small hill in the middle of the body. These surfaces become the different sound fields. The central note is in the middle and is surrounded by a circle with eight other tones. The Sela Harmony Handpan is professionally tuned. It impresses with quality and sound at a high level. The handpan has a pleasant resonant vibration across all tones. It immediately convinces with its long-lasting sound. The tones are clearly separated from each other. This prevents crosstalk.
