Very sought after, and very hard to come by Seymour Duncan "JBJ" black open coil humbucker from the 1980's. Handwound by famed "Maricela Juarez" at the Seymour Duncan factory in Santa Barbara,California. Harvested from a recently traded in used guitar, and is complete with the attached "JBJ" sticker mounted on the rear of the pickup. Maricela Juarez was a top-tier winder for Seymour Duncan in the 80's and later became the manager of the Duncan custom shop. The last "J" on the "JBJ" sticker refers to a specific pickup being wound by Maricela Juarez. 4-conductor with lots of lead wire remaining and measuring a super hot 16.18k output when metered. These early Duncan JBJ pickups are renowned for having a slightly different, often "thicker" sound due to specific level of skilled winding. Highly sought after and are frequently used in a lot of recorded 80s hard rock & heavy metal. More modern JB's are known for a higher output and treble response, But these JBJ model duncans are often discribed as having a thicker- fatter tone, with strong mids and slightly more pronounced bass. An excellent upgraded addition to any guitar that needs a but more ass kicking ability!!
