Shure WL185m, WL184m, and WL183m are professional low-profile Lavalier microphones for use with compatible wireless bodypack transmitters. 8 mm shorter than their predecessors, the WL185m, WL184m, and WL183m lavaliers deliver full and accurate sound quality with an improved presence response that reproduces crystal clear vocals. For flexible placement on speakers, presenters, and performers, each lavalier is available in either black or white with LEMO or TA4F connector options, and the innovative tie clip can be rotated in 90° intervals for accurate positioning. Shure WL185m, WL184m, and WL183m professional lavaliers include a snap-fit windscreen, single tie clip, and zippered bag for storage and transport.

The black Shure WL184m is a discreet, low-profile supercardioid lavalier microphone well suited to a wide variety of interview, presentation, broadcast, and film/video applications. The mic features a 3-pin LEMO connector compatible with select Shure wireless transmitters. Not only does the lav offer a profile that is 8mm shorter then previous models, the WL183m delivers better audio quality with an improved presence response, higher dynamic range, and lower self-noise for crystal clear speech and vocals.

The electret condenser capsule filters out unwanted low frequencies below 70 Hz and delivers a high-end response up to 20 kHz to provide clear, intelligible speech for instructors, journalists, and presenters doing interviews, voiceovers, and dialog. The diaphragm can handle SPL levels up to 138 dB, while the very narrow supercardioid pickup pattern focuses audio capture tightly on the talent wearing the mic, picking up less audio from surrounding sources and helping to reduce feedback issues when sound reinforcement equipment is used.

Optimized for a 5 VDC plug-in power source, the mic features a 4' cable terminating in a 3-pin LEMO connector for use with a compatible Shure wireless bodypack transmitter or similar device. A snap-fit windscreen and adjustable lapel clip that offers 90° rotation for optimal mic placement are included. A zippered storage pouch is also supplied.

Supercardioid Polar Pattern

The mic's supercardioid polar pattern delivers a very narrow pickup pattern focused tightly on the person talking. This helps to reduce bleed from other audio sources and is especially useful in keeping feedback under control when loudspeakers and audio monitors are used.

Headroom for Speech and Vocals

This LEMO version of the WL184m offers a 114 dB dynamic range and a very low self-noise of only 24 dB SPL; it can also handle up to 138 dB SPL with only 1% total harmonic distortion (THD), providing headroom for broadcast-quality interviews, speech, and dialog.

Frequency Response Tailored for Speech

With a frequency range from 70 Hz to 20 kHz, the mic filters out unnecessary low frequencies and provides extended high-end range for accurate and transparent speech reproduction.

Low-Profile Appearance

Compared to the original, the durable aluminum alloy housing on the WL184m is 8mm shorter and features a smaller snap-on windscreen, providing a more discreet appearance for presenters, performers, and on-camera talent.
