Since the 1970s, acrylic drums have been appreciated and sought-after for their unique sound and sleek, clean look. Over the last two decades, TAMA has released limited edition acrylic drum kits and snare drums, starting with the Starclassic Mirage in 2007. To commemorate TAMA's heritage in 2024, the Starclassic Mirage Snare Drum will return as a limited edition 50th Anniversary model.
The 14” x 6.5” clear acrylic shell is 5.5mm thick and produced using a seamless production technique. This allows the drum aggressively resonate with clear attack and deep, full-bodied tone that is supported by die-cast hoops and 20-strand Super Sensitive High-Carbon snare wires. The 20-lug design provides tuning stability and enhances timbre focus. Black Nickel shell hardware contrasts with the clear shell to offer a distinctive overall appearance.
