The Legacy Collection launched during Taylor’s 50th anniversary year as a tribute to Bob Taylor’s foundational guitar designs—featuring original shapes and voicing details, selectively refined for today’s players under Bob’s guidance.
The Legacy 810e Special Edition Heritage Burst expands this lineage with a square-shoulder version of Bob’s original Indian rosewood/Sitka spruce dreadnought, inspired by the American Dream workshop where his guitar-making journey began. It complements the rounded-shoulder Legacy 810e model launched earlier in 2024, which reflects the shape’s later design evolution.

What Sets It Apart
Deeper Square-Shoulder Body
This Legacy 810e adopts Bob’s original square-shoulder silhouette and features a deeper body taper in the lower bout, enhancing low-end response and presence.

X-Bracing
This version of Taylor’s classic X-Bracing architecture has been refined to enhance the warmth, depth and projection and to produce a more open voice.

24-7/8-inch Scale Length
The 24-7/8-inch scale length, occasionally featured in past Taylor dreadnought offerings, serves up a slightly slinkier handfeel for easier fretting—without sacrificing tonal richness. Paired with the deep body and bracing, the result is a dreadnought that blends powerful low-end warmth with nuanced articulation across playing styles.

Legacy Neck Design
The guitar also features Bob Taylor’s patented, highly adjustable neck joint (NT neck), enabling optimal long-term playability and serviceability.
