True American vintage 1957 Gibson LG-1 acoustic in a gently played in 2 tone sunburst nitro finish. No top cracks or past top crack repairs,..but a few very small crack repairs on the rear of the body that have recently been complete "In House" by our on site master lutherie Jovan Salacanin. Mahogany neck with a fat 50's-ish neck profile,..Original 3&3 bank tuners, and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with all freshly dressed original frets.

One interesting characteristic to point out about this paticular '57 LG 1 is the fact that the guitar has what looks very much to be a factory original brazilian rosewood bridge, but with a 2 piece split saddle design that is highly uncommon to Gibson's entire LG line of guitars. Very odd to say the least, but the bridge matches the fretboard perfectly by way of its very pronounced rosewood grain and red-ish color tones. So this bridge is the period correct size and shape, and is 100% made of Brazilian Rosewood. During the early years Gibson has been known to make the odd "one off" modification here and there by just kind of using whatever was around in times of need, especially in the earlier days, so one really can't be 100% certian either way as to whether the bridge is factory original or not, But it does shows every sign of being original due to the construction materials and overall esthetic's,.. including how the bridge is attached to the spruce top. I ain't no Sherlock Holmes but judging from the aforementioned points and the guitars overall appearence,..I would say that the bridge has been on the instrument from its 1957 manufacturing date. But is just no way to be 100% certian of this. However, aside from questioning the bridges originallity, the split saddle really does make the guitar far better when it comes to set up and intonation. So if the bridge was originally installed at the Gibson factory, then the guy at the gibson factory who did the job definitely had his smarty pants on that day!!

Solid mahogany back and sides with a solid spruce top with internal ladder bracing and very nicely played in 2 tone Tobacco Burst-nitro finish. Original frets, all freshly dressed,...No past structural breaks or past break repairs. Great player with nice low action and an excellent tonal range. An excellent example of fine vintage Gibson craftmanship at its best!! Sold with a brand new profile PRC-300-2 hard shell case.
