Early to mid 1980's Peavey T-45 4 string bass with all its original factory parts. An excellent example of USA made Peavey craftmanship. Solid Ash Body with a high gloss 3 tone sunburst finish. 21 fret, rounded oval shaped, bolt on maple neck with 12" radius and 43.95mm,...(or 1.73 inch) nut width and also boasts a neck tilt feature. 4 in line Grover-ish styled high mass machine heads. One should also take note that the G string tuner has one star head screw to replace the original, and now missing slot machine head screw. Super high mass Peavey 4-string bridge with string thru body design, and also features a single Peavey passive "toaster" dual-blade humbucking pickup located in the middle position that will give the player a vast aray of different tones.
The Peavey T-45 bass features a three control knob layout. One standard volume control, and one master tone control, with a unique "middle tone & blend" knob that shifts the single passive pickup between single-coil and humbucker modes.
Control And Layout Functions:
- Volume Knob: Adjusts the overall output level of the passive pickup.
- Master Tone Knob: Shapes the high-frequency response across the entire circuit.
Middle Knob (Special Tone/Blend Control):
- At 10: The pickup operates in single-coil mode, producing a brighter, thinner, Precision-style tone.
- From 7 to 10: Acts as a gradient blending the second coil, moving from bright single-coil characteristics toward a fuller sound.
- At 7: The second coil fully engages, putting the pickup into full humbucking mode for a thicker, fatter voice.
- From 2 to 7: Acts as an independent tone/rolloff control (frequently described in manuals as a mid-frequency or low-frequency rolloff) that interacts with the master tone for unique frequency shaping.
